Join Foxfire for a Celebration of Southern Appalachian Culture. Head up to the North Georgia mountains for a full day of interpretive demonstrations of weaving, blacksmithing, basketry, open hearth cooking, broom making, bark berry baskets, corn shuck dolls, early engines, and much more!
Allow your teen to build confidence in the kitchen by learning the safe and proper way to cut, chop, slice, dice, and more! Participants will work hands-on with instructors to prep and enjoy a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables.
This 6-hour class taught by Foxfire's resident weaver, Sharon Grist, will include instruction on different fibers and their characteristics and practical applications of carding, drafting, and spindle and wheel spinning.
Foxfire Summer Heritage Days is a Heritage Skills event for children and/or families to have a hands-on experience with crafts such as blacksmithing, ropemaking, animal tracking, native plant identification and much more.
