Join Botanologos to learn about phytochemistry as it relates to herbal medicine. Using simple, easy to understand terminology, this seminar introduces you to polysaccharides, polyphenols, alkaloids, tannins, resins, volatile oils and many more. The information presented may be used to guide medicine making practices and organoleptic (using the senses) assessments skills to identify plant matter as well as to develop a deeper understanding of herbal actions.
The second half of this weekend provides a general overview of some of the considerations that both practitioners and their patients need to be aware of when combining herbs with prescription medications.
