Spend a weekend away from the city learning from Homesteading Pioneers Shabari and Hugh Lovel. Hugh and Shabari started homesteading in Blairsville, Ga in the early seventies.
They learned to do it all: site springs and wells, build water systems, plant and harvest gardens and build soil biology, fell trees, chop wood, can and preserve food, keep bees, ferment food. They also established a Waldorf School, UAI Academy, the first CSA in Georgia, a thriving Biodynamic farm that is still active, a Market Veggie Farm, Birdsnest Retreat Center, and Southeast Biodynamic Gatherings. They are powerhouses of knowledge and unbelievable mentors.
This is their first autumn in ten years in their beloved Blue Ridge mountains and we are privileged they are sharing their knowledge, wisdom, experience and home. Please bring your drums and instruments for Saturday jam by the fire. Bring warm clothing and something extra to wrap around yourself for the bonfire.
