If you’ve ever been enthralled by the amazing terrarium images on Pinterest but have wound up feeling disappointed and betrayed after trying to build your own, this workshop is for you!
Join Garden*hood at this workshop to discuss:
- Which plants are best suited to terrarium and dish garden plantings
- How to build your own terrarium or dish garden
- How to care for your terrarium (so it lasts longer than a week!)
Instructor: Erica Doud, Garden*Hood staff alum. Erica has many talents, including a knack for creating and nurturing amazing terrarium gardens. Erica has a small apartment where all her houseplants and terrariums vie for space in limited areas of sunlight. This has made her an expert at choosing the right plants for the right conditions. She’s an excellent plant match-maker and will send home all workshop participants with fun new plant companions!
Details: The class will be held outdoors here at the nursery. Please dress for the weather (sunscreen, hats, and sun glasses are strongly recommended), and feel free to bring snacks and beverages. In the event of dangerous or exceptionally inclement weather, the class will be rescheduled. We’ll call you the morning of the event to alert you of scheduling changes.
Cost: The cost of the class is $75 for the general public and $60 for members of Homestead Atlanta (please bring proof of membership - accessible on "For Members" page - on the day of the class). This cost covers ALL materials (the terrarium vessel, plants, sand, rocks, soil, and tools) plus work space and individual assistance from the workshop instructor. At the end of the class you’ll go home with your very own masterpiece!
