Keep the fermentation fun alive by learning about the history, science, and health benefits of kefir. Milk kefir will be discussed in depth - and sampled! - including a number of versatile recipes and ideas from kefir cheese and kefir ice cream to coconut milk kefir and more. We will also touch on water kefir – a wonderful soda alternative for you and your family - as well as other fermented beverages like kvass, fermented ginger ale and more!

Melanie Wade is the entrepreneur behind Georgia’s first and only bottled kombucha tea company, Golda Kombucha. Melanie has completed extensive research of the health and healing findings of kombucha tea, and has mastered the fine art of brewing and fermenting the beverage. Kimberly Coburn is the founder of The Homestead Atlanta and has a bit of a soft spot for kefir, as it was one of her first forays into fermenting. It’s also her first time scooting out from behind the desk to try her hand at teaching. Mostly she’s just excited to have an excuse to make more kefir ice cream.
