This beginner’s blacksmith course held at Nelms Creekmur Forge in the Lake Claire neighborhood of Atlanta will teach some of the basic yet fundamental blacksmithing skills such as drawing out, scrolling, bending, and twisting. Nelms will also be happy to give advice to any students who are considering setting up a forge in their very own backyard one day!
About the Instructor:
Nelms Creekmur has a background in languages, writing, and teaching abroad, and has acquired over the years a host of manual labor skills in fields such as stone masonry, carpentry, and blacksmithing. After a blacksmithing apprenticeship at Michael Dillon Forge in Crabapple Georgia in 2010, Nelms built his own metal forge and shop in his backyard and has been hammering full time ever since.
