Join Preserving Now to sneak up on the holidays with these two fresh canning ideas:  Pear Walnut Chutney & Cranberry Apple Compote.  Great for holiday (or Fall) dinners.  Maybe a great gift for that gourmand you know, making them up in those attractive 4-ounce jars ?  You can bet none your friends have ever experienced these unusual combos.

We’ll learn and prepare these two recipes, completely hands-on!  Then safely process them in a water-bath canner to make them shelf stable.  These can also be made in small batches and refrigerated with no canning processing needed.  Your choice!

How to serve?  As a condiment for meats, especially turkey, pork, ham.  As a companion on cheese trays, especially hard cheeses or the more aged cheeses – brie, camembert.  Or on crostini’s spread with a soft cheese.  You’ll probably find more uses as you reach for a jar in your pantry. Take home the jars you made up as well as recipes and complete instructions.  Everything provided.
