Join us for a dinner to benefit Foxfire and Timpson Creek Farm at Tiger Mountain Vineyard’s Red Barn. We have prepared an evening of tastes from Southern Appalachia. Leading this culinary journey are chef David Sweeny, wild foods experts Patricia Kyritsi Howell (BotanoLogos School of Herbal Studies) and Cara Lee Langston (Wildcraft Kitchen), and Darby Weaver, farm manager for Timpson Creek Farm. Throughout the evening, Foxfire educators and students will share images and interviews from its archives about wild foods and their role in Southern Appalachian. Foxfire and Timpson Creek Farm will share how they are collaborating to raise awareness about local foodways in order to revive and reclaim food traditions in the region.
Those planning to attend are also encouraged to consider further contributions to Timpson Creek and Foxfire to support local programs geared towards improving health and wellness through a revival of local food traditions. Both of these organizations rely on the generosity of donors to support their community-based programs, specifically to insure accessibility to those most in need.
