Join Concrete Jungle and Herbalista as we explore the urban orchard and edible and medicinal plants available on the Beltline. This workshop is by donation only, but all the proceeds will be split between these organizations which provide locally foraged food and herbal healthcare respectively to homeless and in-need Atlantans.

Plus, it’s a great way to get to meet some other folks in your community! We’ll start and finish our ramble at the Hop City Bar in Krog Street Market, so feel free to stick around afterward to snack, sip, and talk with your new friends.

About the Instructors:
Concrete Jungle was started in 2009 as a volunteer-run, Atlanta-based organization that helps to distribute unused food to the hungry. Concrete Jungle receives almost all of its food from the hundreds of fruit and nut trees growing in the Atlanta area — in yards, on the side of the road, next to buildings. With your generosity, we pick these fruits, nuts, and vegetables throughout metro Atlanta and the surrounding areas and donate as much of the harvest as possible to organizations serving Atlanta’s poor and hungry.

Herbalista, Lorna Mauney-Brodek, is a traveling herbalist, medicine maker, wildcrafter and teacher.  Much of her herbwork supports organizations dedicated to promoting diversity, environmental responsibility, and social justice. She travels the city and the country in The Herb Bus, providing free healthcare clinics to those in need.

Cost: This class is by donation only and funds go to help underserved populations receive foraged foods and herbal healthcare.
