Join MASS Collective for this unique and exciting workshop. Each student will have natural, veg tanned Hermann Oak leather to work with. This leather may be dyed or left in its natural state, offering a wide range of design options. If making a belt, students will choose the width, length and hardware to be used for their belt. Some possibilities include a standard heel bar belt, double ring belt, or muse belt. Dog collars can be made for small, medium, large, or extra large dogs. All dog collar hardware is solid black.
The class will cover the following topics: Designing/patterning, Dying leather, Finishing veg tan leather, Installing rivets and hardware, Beveling and finishing edges
About the Instructor:
Sarah was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. She attended Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she graduated with a degree in Architecture with a focus on Affordable Housing.
After graduating, Sarah worked in millwork shops. She lived in New Orleans from 2010-2012, working as a designer at an affordable housing non-profit, as well as working at several furniture shops.
Sarah returned to Atlanta to set up a small shoemaking shop in 2012. She spent 2013 in Doylestown, PA, working and studying under a master shoemaker before returning to Atlanta to officially launch Cord Shoes and Boots.
