Join our friends at MASS Collective for this great intro to leather working. Each student will learn leather working skills from Sarah Green of CORD shoes by patterning and stitching a pair of shearling slippers. Each pair will be made of 100% shearling wool, super warm and soft, with a thin leather midsole and a rubber sole, for indoor use or light outdoor wear.
This course will cover the following topics:
- Measuring and tracing feet
- Lasts, and basic shoemaking equipment
- Cutting thicker/ soling leather
- Basic fitting
- Awling and Handsewing soles
- Sanding, burnishing and waxing edges
The Hand Stitched Wallet course is a prerequisite to this course, both courses are a prerequisite to take the bootmaking course.
