Have you learned the basics of knitting and purling but want to take your knitting prowess to the next level? Join us for this two morning workshop to help you open up your knitting horizons with stranded colorwork! By using two strands of yarn at the same time, you can create all kinds of designs & motifs. Plus, your end product will be warmer and more durable for the extra yarn.
You may have seen beautiful Fair Isle sweaters or Scandinavian creations based on stranded colorwork – and now you can up your game. Design and create your own Fair Isle style hat and get the basics you need to create all kinds of magical, colorful creations.
Prerequisite: basic knowledge of the knit and purl stitches. Please come to the workshop with the following items – or let us know at least two weeks in advance if you’d like us to gather them for you for an additional supply fee:
- Worsted or favorite weight yarn in at least 2 colors: participant will need a (nearly) full skein of the main color and partial balls of the contrasts.
- 16" circular needles in size appropriate for the yarn, a set of double pointed needles in the same size AND 16" circular needles 2 sizes smaller
- OR 32” circular needles in both sizes for magic loop technique
- A notions kit with small scissors, gauge tool and tapestry needle

About the Instructor:
Nell Ziroli is a perpetual knitter, published designer and enthusiastic teacher. She comes from a family of knitters and otherwise crafty people and has been creating things by hand for as long as she can remember. She also feels at home in the kitchen.
