In this class, you'll learn how to make Pepper Jelly (or Pickled Peppers if you prefer). Not only are these tasty ways to use up an abundance of peppers from your garden – but peppers go nicely into Fall & Winter for those cool/cold nights ahead! Think of Pepper Jelly on a holiday tray!
Or, serve the jelly with goat cheese on toast or crackers. Great not only with meats as a condiment but also with cheeses and even fruits – for entrees, salads, appetizers, lunches….so many uses!
And then we’ll make up a large quart jar of Gardinieria! Yup, those beautifully layered Pickled Veggies you’ve seen in stores. We’ll bring in a dozen or more veggies to choose from – and you layer them as you like: carrots, cauliflower, sweet and hot peppers, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, scallions, cucumbers ….even throw in some olives and/or capers! So good, so easy – so great to have on hand for salads, appetizers, those classic Italian beef and Muffaletta sandwiches.
You'll learn not only how to make up jars of these two items, but how to safely can/preserve them so you can carry them into the cold days ahead! Take home the jars you just made along with complete recipes and instructions.
