In this class, you will learn 'hands on' how to save seeds using two different methods (one for wet seeds and one for dry seeds) as taught by Ira Wallace in her book 'Vegetable Gardening In The Southeast'. We will investigate four plants in particular: Milkweed, Basil, Okra, and Tomato seeds for seed saving. We will discuss annuals and biennials, as well as how to keep and store seed. We will also go on a short garden tour searching for seeds.
Savanah Marks, Tradition Market and Garden’s Nursery Manager will lead the class and will do her best to answer whatever questions you have about saving seed. Who knows... one day you may have your own family heirloom seed to pass on!
The cost for the class is $25. In addition to the knowledge, all participants will receive a $10 gift certificate to spend on any gardening supplies you might need.
This class will be held at Tradition Market and Garden, located at 2154 Briarcliff Road, Atlanta, GA 30329. Class space is limited. To make sure that you do not miss out on this opportunity, please call Tradition Market and Garden at 404-325-0128 to reserve your space.
