Come treat yourself to some locally infused skincare. Join Rambling Creations as we will distill a plant that is growing (probably lemon balm) using a copper still to create a hydrosol - also known as an herbal/floral water. Then, we will make a face cream using the hydrosol we just distilled as well as oils infused with local plants.
A hydrosol is the pure water that is produced when a plant is distilled; it contains a minor amount of essential oil, the plant's cellular water and the plant's water-soluble elements. This is the same process used to distill essential oil - and you'll see why EOs are so valuable when you discover how much plant material it takes to make them! You will take home a sample of both the face cream and hydrosol.
This workshop will be held in a Kirkwood residence and the address will be emailed to participants a few days beforehand.
