THIRSTY THURSDAYS: Your Clean, Green Home

  • Digital Additive 1075 Zonolite Road Northeast - Suite 1D Atlanta, GA, 30306 United States (map)

Nothing feels cozier and more satisfying than being in a clean home, but conventional cleaning products can have a very high monetary – and more importantly, health – price tag. Luckily, you can keep your home clean and healthy for far less using natural ingredients, and protect the health of your family and loved ones.

Come discover your easily-accessed arsenal of cleaning ingredients, how they clean your home, the proper (and improper) ways to combine them, ideas for customizing them to the scents you love most and more. Enjoy a glass of wine and get hands on, creating your very own laundry detergent and all-purpose, disinfecting cleaner in durable and reusable glass containers. Plus, leave with recipes for a number of other products you could make with the ingredients you already have. Whether you live in a tiny studio apartment or in a 3-story estate, you can make your house a healthy home – and save – by transforming how you clean it.

About the Instructor:
Kristyn is a woman of many passions. Over the past year and a half, she and her husband have become increasingly interested in pursuing sustainable living and agriculture, documenting their experience on the blog She also just so happens to be an intern at The Homestead Atlanta, helping us bring classes like these to you.  She looks forward to picking up more skills to build her self-reliance and confidence in the many facets of homesteading; right now, she’s endeavoring to learn canning to help preserve all the bounty she’s learning to grow. In the long term, she hopes to find land to farm while further exploring and experimenting with methods of permaculture, biodynamics, and even aquaponics. As she says, “I foresee a homesteading frenzy of sorts.”
