Make a weekend of it at a gorgeous, biodynamic homestead and farm in the foothills of the Appalachians. Join us for a getaway at Sun Dog Farm where we’ll be learning together how to construct a cob oven. Come Saturday for a long workday and stick around for dinner. While the workshop officially ends in the evening and resumes the next morning, Sun Dog offers great camping spots for your convenience. Feel free to bring musical instruments, s’mores fixins and more!
Plus, you’ll get a tour of the interconnected systems of a working, biodynamic homestead. Bees, chickens, sheep, cats, dogs, annuals, perennials, medicinal herbs, you name it! Come see it all in action.
This workshop is less about formal instruction and more about getting our hands (and feet!) dirty and figuring it out together – and having a great time! Bring a dish to share for lunch, and we’ll take care of your dinner and breakfast if you choose to stay over. Want to bring the whole family? Contact us for an adjusted rate.
About the Instructor:
Darby and Elliot Smith are a young husband and wife homesteading team growing wholesome, biodynamic food at Sun Dog Farm. They have been farming for 7 years, and they are learning more every day. Their property was originally farmed biodynamically by their mentor and inspiration Hugh Lovel, who farmed the land for over 30 years. They are honored to carry on the growing traditions of the land and hope to bring just as much life to the farm as they harvest from it.
