This sixteen-hour course will take place over two days and will expand upon the previous skills in order to produce a small wooden table. Students will fabricate all components of the table using previously covered techniques. Techniques covered include, but are not limited to, the design process, scale drawings, milling, drilling, slotting, edge glueing, and ripping on the bandsaw. The introductory courses are prerequisites for this course. This class will take place in two back to back days, 9am - 5pm. Students are encouraged to bring their lunch. Wood and tools will be available, though it is strongly suggested that you invest in your own set of tools, and you will take home a hand made table at the end of class!
Note: An additional, optional three-hour add-on class is also offered on Saturday, September 29 from 9am-noon to help students learn how to finish sanding their table and apply an oil-based finish. (Add-on class is $95, with 10% discount available to Homestead Atlanta members).
