Good Gut: Ayurveda

  • The Learning Kitchen 209 Edgewood Ave SE Atlanta, GA, 30303 United States (map)

For centuries, Ayurveda has been a tool in aiding digestive health. Chef Ryanne will take you through a crash course in Ayurvedic cooking 101, including a walkthrough of gut healing spices, herbs, dal, rice, a lesson in making ghee, and an Ayurvedic dinner to finish. Leave with a broader understanding of herbs and how to detox using food as medicine by looking at each ingredients underlying healing and functional properties. This class will contain Ghee, which is clarified butter derived from a dairy product: Aside from ghee it will be vegan and gluten-free.

This class is part of the Good Gut Series hosted at The Learning Kitchen that dives deep into exploring topics on gut health with rotating themes. It addresses the growing nutritional trends of gluten-free, paleo, dairy-free, vegan (or avoiding certain foods) while also making it fun and approachable! Together through cooking, tasting and drinks, we educate and empower you to feel more confident in brands, working with whole foods, preparing meals from scratch with seasonal ingredients and finding a holistic approach to healing your gut! Every class you are fed a full-sit down dinner, drinks and leave with recipes in hand.
