Who doesn't love a good guacamole? In this 3-hour class, we will make a delicious dip from scratch and use all of the food waste to make three beautiful dyes. This is a class for beginners to get a taste of natural dyeing and learn how to use the whole avocado before the pits and skins end up in the compost pile.
Using the outer onion skins (yellow), avocado pits and skins (pink), and the soaking water from black beans (blue), we will dye 3 kitchen towels while we snack on our guac and margaritas.
Participants will leave with 3 unique kitchen towels, recipes to recreate these magical dye results at home with no special equipment, and a little less hungry.
