Compost as Color: Kitchen Sink Natural Dyes

  • The Learning Kitchen 209 Edgewood Ave SE Atlanta, GA, 30303 United States (map)

Onion skins, avocado peels, pomegranate rinds, and wilted greens are more than just compost. This workshop is perfect for those interested in reducing waste, repurposing old textiles, and exploring natural dyes without any harmful chemicals. Using everyday items found in your fridge, spice racks, and grocery store, participants will be guided through preparing natural fibers for dyeing, creating the dye baths, and a range of resist techniques to create patterns on our textiles.

Participants will leave with instructions and recipes, dye sample cards, and 3 finished textiles.
